Old churches and church yards, Bubba Gump shrimp eaten outdoors under an
umbrella, strolling through the market, Gullah baskets woven by black women
and for sale at phenomenal prices, bought antique silver, a part of a geode
filled with amethyst crystals, stroll down a row of carriage houses, smell of
sea air, Fort Sumter in the distance, sound of horse drawn carriages, St.
Michael's Church . . . great wealth, great poverty, ghosts of history all
around, survival of earthquake, fire, hurricane, Charleston, something in my
heart that says go on, go on.
