The Gallery Scene
With hoofs distorted in awkward angle,
the horses appeared in distress
in their effort to move the chariot
as the whipping desired them to do.
The warrior with swollen biceps,
his face lined with determination,
pierced the depth of earth and
tried to pull out the stuck wheel.
why did an arrow strike him, then,
in such s fateful predicament?
History fails to record to date
the reason for such a queer act.
The painter is a historian,
now paints the story on canvas.

Alludes to a story from Mahabharata -
Arjuna killed Karna when Karna was in the process
of mending the wheel of his chariot. Arjuna and Karna
were brothers, but Arjuna did not know this; Karna knew,
but was under the compulsion of fighting against Arjuna.
Lord Krishna was the charioteer of Arjuna. Before this war
Sri Krishna told the Gita to Arjuna. Krishna also knew Karna
and Arjuna were brothers; but Karna had to die, for he had
sided with the forces of 'adharma' - unrighteousness
or non-righteousness.
