There is a pleasing integrity to your poem. I find great difficulty in
situating the action and characters in time and in relation to each
other. I am not sure whether the history of Fort Dupont should be read
in to the poem, or whether the events depicted could take place at any
other park.

==================
Fort Dupont
In bunny jammies
the two year old flutters
like a pink moth
from family to family
she white
they black
Early evening DC simmer
shimmers on the kelly lawn
At the old fort
war cannons brace
for history's sake
Chiming like Billie Holiday
the up and coming jazz singer
scats as the first star
light star bright
comes out tonight
The goldylock girl
shares a picnic
with her adopted family
the first star I see tonight
I wish I may I wish I might
make this wish come true
tonight
