Hello Trish,
I've compromised ( a little) on the 'they's and the 'keep's - not too much,
but some.
It is the whole poem Trish, you've not missed any. I read Charles Bukowskis
book called 'Women'. My first encounter with him, although I've heard lots
about him. I was quite taken with the book and penned this in
reaction/reflection I suppose.
Basically the main character, whichI take to be largely autobiographical
(rightly or wrongly), is as described in the poem, as are the procession of
women that feature in the novel (he is also very well known as a poet).
Anyway, thta's all there is to it.
Cheers and thanks,
Frank
