Self-deprecation? Modesty? Crisis of self-confidence? Not sure, Gary.
We wing our way to as high a branch as we can to sing.
The joy is in the effort, perhaps a brief notoriety, a glimpse of
acknowledgment, a patter of applause, a nod of approval from a stranger.

Arthur, perhaps all of the above and others. Sometimes only an idea that
nags until if appears on the laptop as if full grown.
Tis most a disease, we write like junkies shot up; and if we get
notoriety/applause/approval, we increase the dose.
Thanks.
Gary
