Thanks Mike.

Plant is approximated to mind.

Plants grow as a human mind grows. Both change slowly, not like a machine.
Both turn to the light = truth.

Uplift is meant to suggest a gradual movement to enlightenment, whether
scientific or artistic.

Isn't it the case that people's viewpoints are readily polarised, generating
opposition to other people? This happens during a friendly debate or when
countries go to war. The process conceals the common objectives (or
surprisingly similar objectives) of the antagonists.

Hello Colin,
I must confess to being a bit out of my depth with this one but
regarding the language, there were a few things that I found awkward. For
instance, the word order in line 3 `as I with you opppose..´, the word
`uplift´ in line 4 is so strongly associated with the idea of spiritually
uplifting that I felt it jarred ( unless you wanted that association, and
I´ve just missed the point). I´m completely puzzled by the appearance of the
plant in line 8. I may well be reading this inadequately but it definitely
is not one of my favourites from your keyboard. Hope this helps.

Best wishes, Mike

Devil's Advocate

Does it seem I play
at devil's advocate
as I with you oppose word with word,
uplift to each idea its opposite,
propose that if we wished
our places could easily be switched?

Such banter
is my way of knowing a strong plant,
that we speak with faces,
each turned incompletely
to a common goal.
