Hi Colin,
A real canny poem! But is it rather more of a monologue than a conversation
(tho I expect if you're an old God you probably do all the talking!)

>Seeking to show Earth's treasure to another
>I have flung to the waves
>what I loved on land.
>This done I found
>all transformed in the image of the sea.
>The scarab beetle became a crab,
>the winter blackbird turned to coal fish,
>fields of hay were sea grass
>and the rice grains, pearls.
>Finally I flung to the waves the sun and moon
>but they too drowned in those fertile depths,
>becoming a tapestry
>of watered light.
