Mark,
Ant is rebuilt and reinstalled every time from the CVS checkout.

Steve,
I think I have encountered this here. Doing a CTRL-\ stack trace
on the hung ant process told me:
"main" prio=1 tid=0x0x8051f58 nid=0x134c waiting on condition

I can't see from the ZipScanner source what could be causing this.
To cut a long story short, I've failed to reproduce this in a way
which enables me to investigate further, since the problem went away
when I did a recompile/reinstall of ant - well, I think it has,
though since it's intermittent it's hard to be sure.
So try doing a rebuild and reinstall of ant and see if that sorts it.
(If anyone works out what's really going on here, I'd be interested
to know).
