Tim,
OK, to clarify, "topcat" and "treeview" commands are in /star/starjava/bin
/star/starjava/bin is put on the path by /star/etc/login, you only need to
source /star/etc/login and /star/etc/cshrc for all the STARJAVA stuff to
work. If you only have STARJAVA and nothing else then you can source
/star/starjava/etc/login and /star/starjava/etc/cshrc, which only initialise
the STARJAVA commands.
Steve.

I've finally realised why I don't get TOPCAT and TREEVIEW (thanks
Malcolm). I find it astounding that $STARLINK/etc/login and
$STARLINK/etc/login do not themselves source the Java startup scripts
in $STARLINK/etc. Why was it done like that? Surely a starlink login
should initiailise the starlink java applications? Are we really expecting
people to add two starlink init lines to their personal login files or are
sites expected to put this in to $STARLINK/local/etc?

I know it still works. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed though.
