Dave,
The -c option is not available on Solaris or Tru64 Unix su, but you should
not have to add -c, this is odd that it fails on yours. I think there is an
option to specify a particular shell, I will look.
I was going to sort out the /star thing today.
Steve.

A couple of notes on using the quick_install script:
1) I get an error
Please enter your root password
so the /star symbolic link can be
created
if: Expression Syntax.
which seems to be because my root account uses /bin/tcsh, not /bin/sh as
its shell. This problem seems to go away if the line
su root "${CDROM}/tools/star-root"
is changed to
su root -c "${CDROM}/tools/star-root"
2) I tried to install into a pre-existing /star directory (an actual
directory, not a softlink to another directory). This failed with
/star symbolic link does not exist, creating...
Could not create /star symbolic link
Presumbaly you should also test to see if there is a pre-existing /star
directory (in addition to testing for a pre-existing /star softlink)
before creating a new softlink.
