I've run the quick_install script and it all appears to build and work
on my new RH9.0 installation.
However, there is one problem I've seen. In CCDPACK's graphical
registration tasks (e.g. IDICURS) I see the wrong cursor some
times. To reproduce the problem, try this:
ccdpack
idicurs $STARLINK/bin/kappa/m31
then select some new cutoff using the 'cutoff' box. While it's
drawing (the 'Drawing image' window shows over the main display)
move the cursor from the popup menu onto the main image
(if you've got a fast machine you might need a bigger image
than kappa/m31 to give you enough time for this). When the
redraw completes, the cursor I see over the image is the kind of
cursor I get over the X background (X-shaped) rather than something
more appropriate (an arrow). If I move the cursor from the
IDICURS window to the X background and back to the IDICURS
window again, I get the right sort of cursor.
I see this on the rh9cd-test5.iso image installation using FVWM2 and Sawfish
window managers on RH9. I also see it on the autumn 2002 CD on
RH9, and I don't see it on the rh73-test1.iso image on an RH7.3
system, so it looks like it is an RH9 problem or a problem with the
interaction between RH9 (CDE?) and GWM or native PGPLOT or something.
