Hi David,
assuming you have the correct sources, then I don't know.
Maybe something isn't being cleaned properly (leaving an old lib.a or .o
file around) or you're dragging in a library from elsewhere. I vaguely
remember some problem with a library somewhere using old-style string
handling (CNF and bcopy?), but presumably since Steve has built all this
that has been fixed.

No need to rebuild, these are shareable library references.
Free advice for today: take the easy option and just lift the built
/stardev!
