Steve,
the item on David's list
SR Download CVS in built fashion plus instruction - see MBT site
was at my suggestion: what I meant was to have instructions for
downloading and installing the starjava set in place at RAL, with
the relevant zip/tar files there too. I have in mind something
like my treeview installation guide:
http://andromeda.star.bris.ac.uk/~mbt/treeview/install.html
which talks about installing Treeview but actually tells you how to
install the whole starjava set.
It probably wants to have the option of installing the latest
proper release (the one from the most recent CD) or the latest
bleeding edge version (most recent one built by cron which
completed successfully?) It might also be nice to have a link
to the sources i.e. the starjava-src.zip and/or starjava-sources.zip
files for those who want to take a look at the source without
accessing it via CVS.
A list of which applications require which components (JAI and
platform-specific shared libraries) would be good too.
I can help with this if you want, but note I'm away this thursday,
friday, monday.
