It is my understanding that there is agreement for Starlink to migrate
software licencing from the Starlink licence to the (L)GPL. This didn't
happen for the last release because of time constraints and concern over
Figaro.
One question I have concerns fortran slalib. Is that going to be
LGPL'ed? All the statements I've heard previously indicate that the answer
to that question is "yes" but I just wanted to make sure. The reason I ask
is that there is a lot of interest in using Fortran slalib for astrometry
calculations in one of the populare DateTim perl modules but the Starlink
licence is too restrictive for their purposes.
