Typos:
I you experience problems -> If you experience problems
This particularly effects GAIA -> This particularly affects GAIA
It's a shame about needing /star. From what I gather Steve you're
not going to be around to prepare the next CD (if there is one) -
can you write a summary to this list or elsewhere of what the issues
are exactly and how they might be fixed (or why they can't be).
I thought that it had been possible to sort this out on previous
releases (though I may be wrong), and we should try to for future ones
if possible.
It would also be a good idea to put a few words in this section
saying what will/won't work if /star is not present; some people
unable to make this link may still be able to make use of the
packages they need.
As a LaTeX pedant I can't avoid pointing out that there are several
quotes round the wrong way - the LaTeX source for quoted words
should read ``thus'' or `thus', not "thus" or 'thus'.

Any reason why all the invocation examples have a '&' after them?
Readers can decide whether they want to run them in the background
or not.
Section 2:
I'd prefer a change of emphasis here. Instead of saying
"the user should be using the C-shell", "STARJAVA needs the SUN
JRE..", I'd be inclined to say "There are C-shell scripts to
facilitate use of STARJAVA...", "STARJAVA has been developed and
tested using Sun's JRE...". If you don't have or don't want to
use csh or have a different JRE you can still get these working
by invoking the appropriate jar files; presumably you're going
to say something about this in the Windows section.
Peter's applications are a bit more tied into the use of scripts
etc so he may have a different perspective on this.
The following requirements matrix may be a useful inclusion:
J2SE1.4 JNIAST/JHIHDS JAI
(Linux,Solaris,Windows)
FROG Y Y
SPLAT Y Y
SoG Y Y Y
Tablecopy Y
TOPCAT Y
Treeview Y * *
Y: does require it
*: will run without it, but with reduced functionality
Section 3.6 (Tablecopy):
Please change:
(which can be invoked from within the package or with the invocation
`topcat -help')
to
(which ... `topcat -guihelp')
(I changed the flag, topcat -help gives a usage message as noted earlier
in the section).
Section 3.6.2 (Output table):
Oops, in the example line 'jdbc:<driver-specific-url>\#<new-table-name>'
a backslash should not appear. I probably escaped the # character
which does not need escaping.
