Yes, you can, if you avoid regional (non-linear normalization) by
setting the number of basis function to 0. With 20 slices, you may get a
decent result by just normalizing the original diffusion images,
preferrably to the EPI-template (if you use EPI, that is :). You could
also coregister them with an anatomical image, normalize that one, and
apply the paramterers to the diffusion images. Beware of geometrical
distortions, though!
