Following the award by the MRC of a Career Establishment Grant to study the
biology of schizophrenia, applications are sought for the post of Clinical
Research Fellow, in the University of Sheffield (ScanLab) under the
supervision of Dr Sean Spence, Reader in Psychiatry.
The appointee will take part in the neuroimaging of patients using state of
the art magnetic resonance techniques. He/she will learn to analyse
neuroimaging and clinical data sets, and prepare their findings for
presentation and publication. He/she will work well with clinical
colleagues and will contribute to the clinical assessment of patients.
The research will be suitable for a higher degree and the post would be
suitable for a trainee wishing to pursue a career in academic
psychiatry/neuroscience. Applicants should have MRCPsych or equivalent and
current GMC registration. The post is available immediately for five years.
The salary will be at the appropriate point on the Specialist Registrar
scale, superannuable.
