Hello and HAppy New Year

I am member of CUP journal Popular Musicc Editorial Board and have been
for longish time - I have recently taken over being book reviews editor for
my sins - I am looking for some new reviewers and wondered if any of you
out there in SPAN would like to review a book? it would be really good to
have some new names and approaches and people involved - I know everyone is
bisy but we all read on trains, planes, at night , in the loo and the
review does not need to be heavy duty - just a frank and honest appraisal

I enclose the list of books awaiting allocation at present - if you would
like to be considered to do one - and feel you have necessary passion/
expertise/ interest/ time - please be in touch - something short and sweet
is fine - say 500-1500 words - or more extended if you are into a longer
piece - it takes people a lot of effort and courage sometimes to go into
print and I would like to get as many books reviewed as possible as quickly
as possible - a review does not necearily need to be positive but must
be constructive

so please be in touch with your mail address if you would like to review
one of books listed below

cheers and here to hoping to get to next SPAN meeting

Jan Fairley
