Hi Jan,
The Centre for Continuing Education here at the University of East
Anglia has also been merged with the School of Education, very recently.
So far we share a large office space and coffee. I have moved out of CE.
I would have liked this set up when I was running science programmes -
there are like minds and facilities here.

Dear David
I haven't been a science tutor for the OU, but I am currently a student!
I'm
two-thirds of the way through an MEd (Lifelong Learning) - hard work,
but
very interesting.
As regards CE reorganisation, we in Aberystwyth are also being
re-organised.
The Centre for Continuing Education has just been merged with the
Education
Department, to form the 'School of Education and Lifelong Learning'. As
far
as I can see, the only thing that the two departments had in common was
the
word 'education' in their titles. I understand, however, that this sort
of
merger has happened elsewhere. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Dear All
A question came up yesterday and I did not know the answer. Has any
other
University CE academic (apart from me) also worked as a part-time tutor
for
the Open University? If so, I would appreciate makeing contact.
All the very best
Hope all is going well with CE in your Uinversity. Having Mainstreamed
CE
in Bristol, the university is reviewing CE and many people here now
think
that perhaps it was not the best thing to do! Surprise, surprise! Any
view
on how to get out of this mess and get CE properly organised here -
would
be most greatful.
