Please be advised that the United States FHWA has an extensive program on
safety issues, and their mitigation, associated with enhancing freight
transportation. Three, of many, sites of potential assistance are:
www.ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight
www.safety.fhwa.dot.gov/programs
www.fmcsa.dot.gov
The FHWA publication "The Freight Story" provides a summary of their
considerable freight transporttion activities.

Subject: Re: Safety strategies for heavy vehicles
I will ask about it this Thursday/Friday at the IV Conference on Freight in
Buenos Aires. Diverse transport and logistics associations and companies
from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay will be there so maybe they have
something to share.
Exxon was giving seminars on Driver´s fatigue during 2000. I will look for
the biz card and send you their e-mail. Strategies were interesting and
simple to implement.
