Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computer Science
in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science, which is one of the most
successful and largest of its kind in the UK. It has internationally acknowledged
research excellence in Electronics (RAE 2001 Grade 5*), and Computer Science
(RAE 2001 Grade 5*). In teaching the QAA ratings are
also the highest possible: 24/24 for Electronics and Excellent for Computer Science.
Strategically we are seeking people who have 5* research potential in any area of
Computer Science, including, but not restricted to, the following: agent based computing,
grid computing, e-Science, e-Business, e-Society, knowledge technologies, distributed
computing, software engineering, applied formal methods, applied computational methods, a
utonomic and pervasive computing, adaptive systems. We are particularly keen to attract
individuals whose research is in the interface with the Life Sciences, to participate
in exciting new initiatives, which build on the research activities of the whole department.
Applicants should have a PhD, a good publication record and the enthusiasm and drive to
carry out research in an exciting, highly professional, multidisciplinary environment.

The salary will be in the range £22,191 to £33,679 pa on Lecturer Grade A/B or
£35,251 to £39,958 pa on the Senior Lecturer Grade.
