Hi Rebecca:
Not just Pauline Hanson but the Bush gang after 9/11 & especially on the
anniversary last year (as, on Canadian TV, Noam Chomsky pointed out last
night, apropos his new book):
>
>We might say, then, that the media act as vectors in affective epidemics
>in which something else is also smuggled along: the attitudes and even the
>specific ideas which tend to accompany affect in any given situation.
Fear, which card they'll play again as the election comes near, worked
well; & he was quietly devastatingly funny about the way the media, the
members of whom should be laughing all that spin out of court seems content
to pass it on with no real critique at all. He was especially hard on the
NYTimes.

You may allow me moments
not monuments, I being
content. It is little,
but it is little enough.
