This from another list (18L, as it happens):

Lucky residents in the UK will be able to see an hour-long television
programme on Georgian homosexuality, titled "Queer as 18th-century Folk", on
Thursday May 8th on Channel Four at 9 p.m., to which I contributed. Other
interviewees include G.S. Rousseau, Tim Hitchcock, Richard Davenport-Hines,
and Emma Donoghue.

... but it seems pertinent to this thread.
Rictor's work lay behind the play, _Mother Clap's Molly House_, but this is
a bit ambiguous:
"
His play Mother Clap's Molly House, (2001), was said to be inspired by
Rictor Norton's book "Mother Clap's Molly House: The Gay Subculture in
England 1700-1830", (1992). However, Rictor Norton's permission was not
sought and he dissassociated himself from the play saying that it distorted
history.
Mark Ravenhill has been open about being HIV-positive.

Rictor's also absolutely ace on 17/18thC slang.
I'm really looking forward to this, and my apologies to those outside this
Tight Little Bright Little Isle who won't get to see it.

(Chris -- if this seems like something that would be of interest to you, I
could video it and send you a tape. Brit format VHS, if you can read that.
I don't want to make this an open offer to the entire list, simply through
issues of practicallity. It's possible that it may be available on
streaming video on the Web -- I'll see if I can check this out with Rictor.
