The US of A is just
too vast to fathom sometimes (And
so few of you realize it). But then ... it's
like Charles Olson said so succinctly in the
opening lines of his oh so fine 'Call me
Ishmael' (Olson's whole point, I
sometimes feel): 'I take SPACE to be the
central fact to man born in America, from Folsom cave
to now. I spell it large because it comes large
here. Large, and without mercy.' And then,
next paragraph, 'a hell of wide land' ...
