I have to say that I am baffled by the continued talk of putting people on
"review" status. Especially in cases like David Bircumshaw. I've never felt
that there was any malice expressed in David's posts. Also, if people don't
agree with someone else's politics or find them to be sexist or classist or
whatever, there is nothing wrong with having a discussion about it or
ignoring them. The world is full of people who I don't necessarily agree
with on a number of issues. All kinds of things offend me, but so what? Is
that a reason to consider blocking someone from participating in the
discussion?
The idea that people who obviously love the list , and are not
intentionally trying to ruffle feathers, are put on review status is the
kind of thing that makes me consider "resigning."
What would Socrates do?
