Chris,
I wasn't being critical. I posted what I did more in a musing spirit
than anything. You might also want to look at Ron Silliman's work as I know
he has an interest in recent cognitive work on emotion even though emotion
is officially an unmentionable for langpos.
I haven't sorted it through completely yet but think your other post
here on 'celebrate difference' and field work is relevant to the quandry we
poets in the USAcentric find ourselves in re war. I haven't digested this
completely yet so am spitting it out almost at random, but just came across
a new study on IBS patients like me who do have some labeling problems. it
turns out that when we tell the doctor we're are in pain we are really
saying we are discomfortable.
I realize that this shoots off in several directions but hope there is
ultimately a connection.
tom bell
ps. I cc'd Ron. Hope you don't mind.
