Remarkable! I don't mind getting it wrong when I learn it the right
way. But how the hell did a Britishism find its way into
Mad? Though...free association time..."crackers" has long been used over
here to signify crazy. It also turns up in one of the most grotesque but
funny movies I ever saw, John Waters' "Pink Flamingos," where a character
named Crackers is the son of the woman played by the late Divine, who had
to be the most bizarre female impersonator on the planet.
