thanks Randolph a poem ? makes me feel like a very small mouse wandering
into a cage of very large hungry lions.I have wandered in from britpos -so I
know how fierce some of the lions are----what else?a retired bloke not able
to get out so much-gave up performance (got me too screwed up beforehand) a
compulsive poem writer----the web is so fantastic to follow breath of fresh
air----many of the names here look familiar--used to facilitate workshops
for Survivor Poets --now run a writers group from here (Raynes Park -London)
cheers patrick -now a poem if I can get this thingy to work.it won't (old
works)so rewrite!
ps decidedly nonacademic
CLIMBING THE VERTICAL ROCKFACE OF LIFE
climbing the vertical rockface of life
in his pyjamas and fluffy slippers slipping
with few handgrips and handholds holding
with a rising tide and sharks circling
with pitiless sun blazing scorching
with a tsunami welling swelling pending
and stones crumbling boulders falling
and ravenous vultures screeching descending
and in a military fring range firing
and a bushfire smoking approaching
and a thirst demanding unquenching
and a hunger crippling unabating
and red ants stinging biting
and mosquitoes blood sucking
and trannie blaring pop unceasing
and other things all bothering
and he sometimes wondering pondering
what it was all meaning-saying?
and feeling it all a bit depressing
a bit depressing yes depressing
