Ok, Trevor, sorry, I am not always sure whether to read these threads as a continuum or not, though if I were to read on a sporadic basis, I would probably jump in and out at different places than someone else would. But I had been reading Chris's posts and trying to reply to them, and I think missed Jon's or rather scanned it.
Best,
Rebecca

While I don't necessarily picture myself as the most sensitive of
correspondents on this list, I'll claim innocence on this one: most of
Chris' recent posts are tucked away on my machine in a folder labelled
"Good
list-posts" containing a rake of stuff which has zipped past me too fast
for
me to take it in, but which I hope to get to in a considered way (and
usually several moths after there's any point in my responding to them).
The posts there from Chris are, I'm afraid, almost all unread, unopened;
after reading a few a couple of weeks ago, I decided to hoard and catch up
later. So, I've absolutely no notion what Chris, or anyone else, said
about
1970's cat-posters. My wisecrack was simply an instant response to what I
took as a slight put-down from Jon; the alternative I considered was to
comment on his current premiership of Australia, but I suspected that
might
provoke too many brickbats, as well as being unfair to Jon.
Best,
Trevor
