Jill, Perhaps there's a thread here on the extremes of realism in art and
lit? I wonder if the poetic equivalent of Mueck's "super", "hyper",
and/or "ultra" realism might not embody the sculptural aspect of Ian
Hamilton Finlay's work, for example? Ron Mueck himself may be the only
source for the poems written in response to his work. Though Judith Palmer
in the June 2 1998 issue of The Observer reports as follows: "'Dear Dad'
was only the second sculpture Mueck had exhibited, but it immediately
touched a nerve. It has elicited piles of fan mail, and within weeks of it
going on show I was hearing poems written about it." That "show" was
