G'day Trevor,
Thanks. Not such a bad idea. One of the initial ideas with the mag was to avoid manifestos and editorials. Even bios (in the actual mag) - we were trying to represent poetry only from cover to cover. A lot of subscribers have loved this idea. We have a reference on the acknowledgements page directing people to vist our website which includes author bios and (if permitted) links to email addresses and websites. Eddie didn't seem to want to acknowledge this at all.
Like you, I get the impression he's not someone who likes to spend 'time' with poetry.

Hi Clint,
Just by way of background . . .
When my chapbook, Syzygy, came out from Randolph Healy's Wild Honey Press,
back in '97 or so, I heard that it had been slammed on the NHI site. Sure
enough, when I checked, there was an attempted hatchet job. The reviewer was
ill-informed, wrong in matters of fact, and to preoccupied with his own
opinions to read either poem or notes accurately.
Being slightly pissed off by this, I wrote to Gerald England, pointing out
these shortcomings, and said he was standing by his reviewer, on grounds of
freedom of opinion. I suggested in return that opinion was one thing, but
downright misrepresentation quite another. (The review, for example, quoted
the notes as saying the poem was written deliberately to be
incomprehensible. Need I say that they didn't?) I told him take it down, or
I'd link to it from my own site as an example of egregious stupidity. The
review was withdrawn the following day.
Might work again . . . ?
Best of luck,
Trevor
