I am a friend of Gabe Guddings, I admire him as a poet and person.
(By the way, check out the review in Rain Taxi, the best review
journal of poetry in U.S., by Fred Muratori of Gabe's _A Defense of
Poetry_, wherein Muratori, who is sometimes not easy on those he
reviews, estimates Gabe's book as an historically significant
intervention into American poetry.)
Nevertheless, I am troubled by the recent bannings at Poetryetc.
There are current members who have been guilty of like, or worse,
personal insults and attacks and yet never been removed (or even
warned). The bannings of late strike me as biased and tinged by
ideological preference. I don't feel I can remain on the list under
such circumstances, and I request to be removed by the listowners.
