Deborah
I don't write to this list much nowadays as I'm effectively under conditions
of censorship (see archives) but I was struck by two items in your recent
posts: one was the notion of Yeats as a poet for peace, that took me aback,
send war in our time as he quoted, the other was how beautiful your mixed
language haiku-type piece was. I don't have much time for most English
language examples of that form, unlike the Japanese, there usually seems to
be a complete inhaprension about how either language works, but there I felt
you got it right. Congratulations.
Best

:) you are welcome. Great poem, btw. Very nice work.
I was in Washington DC yesterday, at the Library of Congress poetry reading
entitled, The Power of Peace. It was a very rewarding and inspiring
afternoon. The three speakers, Merrill Leffler, Dean Blehert and J.J.
Steinberg read works by Mary L. Woods, Guiseppe Ungaretti and Yeats. Dean
Blehert (Reston, VA) read an original poem called, "Lying in Bed One Morning
Before the War".
