In my experience, the wishes/needs of editors on this point vary
widely. About as many seem to want email submissions only as
want snailmail submissions only. (And, no, I haven't made a real
count--just an impression here.) Anyway, some clearly find snailmail
submissions a hassle they seem to want to avoid.
I, for one, don't think editors spend *all* day reading anything.
