In the middle of grading finals...wow, another run of The Small World
Society. Deborah and I used to be members of South Mountain Poets in
Millburn, NJ, in the early 1990s when I was first writing. I could never
figure out why she signed her work with the concluding letters "SC" until I
asked her and she told me it was the Sisters of Charity religious
order. "You're a NUN????" I always assumed that nuns dressed like those
scary presences I used to see on the street when I was a kid.
