The KnotPlot Site - Goth knots, knot necklaces, tame knots and wild ones.
Most of these images have been created by a software program called
KnotPlot which you can download from the website and try for
yourself. As well as an abundance of knotty examples, there is
information on the mathematics behind the knots, and even a cat's eye
view of some of them.

Live Maths
The prediction of climate - Climate change, and our response, are issues
of global importance, affecting food production, water resources,
ecosystems, energy demand and much else. Dr Emily Shuckburgh explains how
scientists try to predict the future of our climate.
When: 5pm Thursday 13th November
Where: Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Clarkson Road, Cambridge

Mathematical moments
Marjorie Lee Browne - Born 9 September 1914, died 19 October 1979.
Browne became one of the first black women in the United States to obtain
a PhD in Mathematics despite the double prejudice she faced. Her work
included research in group theory, topology and numerical analysis. A
colloquium in her honour is held at the University of Michigan, where she
completed her PhD.
