(CARISMA, www.carisma.brunel.ac.uk ) is seeking applications for a
three-year
PhD studentship in the area of Stochastic integer programming models
and algorithms. The project will focus on
1. Modelling uncertainty in domain of capacity planning in the supply chain
and financial portfolio
planning decisions specifically involving discrete decisions;
2. Researching theory and algorithms for processing the resulting stochastic
integer programs.
We are looking for a student with a good degree in Mathematics or in a
scientific or engineering
subject with a high mathematical content; the applicant should be interested
in applying mathematical
methods to solving applied problems. Knowledge of software packages and
programming languages
