Carmel,
Contact your EH department. They will have some data already on local air quality. They may have noise readings as well. If they have not, they may well be able to help you get them.

Subject: School Crossing Patrol
Hi All
Working for the City Council we have a large group of over 65's (the
olderst is 80 years) who work as school crossing patrol officers. Until
now they have routinely undergone stringent pre employment screening and
routine yearly check ups. The monitoring includes audiometry, spirometry,
blood pressure, sight and a subjective measure of mental and physical
capability
Does anyone else out there conduct such medicals- if so what do they
entail using what criteria.
We are hoping to run an entirely risk driven programme but so far no air
or noise monitoring has been conducted.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone with ideas or experience in this
field.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Carmel
