A major new project has been launched to look at how companies view and assess the costs of workplace accidents and work-related ill health. The study is being carried out on behalf of the HSE, and the findings of this research will guide future H&S campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the financial aspects of H&S and help companies reach accurate assessments of the cost of workplace accidents and work-related ill health.
The research team would like to invite small, medium and large companies/organisations nationwide to take part in the research. This will involve a researcher visiting and conducting brief one-to-one interviews with managers and employees with responsibilities for health and safety (only 2/3 people needed).
Where possible, the research team would also like to provide participating companies/organisations with an estimate of how much accidents and work-related ill health may be costing them. All data collected will, of course, remain strictly confidential.
All types of organisations are required including educational establishments.
