Hi
I have experienced similar problems a few years back with taking blood
samples from aircrew. With the introduction of the vaccutainer system I
found that any symptoms I had resolved quickly.
Although some may see this as a "fiddly" procedure in my experience once
you get used to changing the bottles (without pulling out the vein)it is
a lot easier. The other added attraction is this is a closed system and
there is little risk of contact with blood.
I hope this is off use to you
Best wishes
Gordy
