John,
I had a similar problem where I used to work. The lenses and part of the
frames were one piece. When you looked to the side and where there was a
"bend" in the plastic you would often get blurring of the peripheral field
of vision. The answer in this particular situation was to only go for non
prescription glasses with rigid non transparent frames. Probably not the
same type your talking about but
thought it worth a try.
