I have done a quick search of a standards database we have access to and
there does not appear to be any BS standards applying to humidity levels in
offices. It is normally referred to as % Relative Humidity. I seem to
recall that it was generally thought that it should be between 40 and 60
%RH.
Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety has a webpage on Thermal
Comfort at http://www.ccohs.ca/oshanswers/phys_agents/thermal_comfort.html
They quote among others ASHRAE who give 50 %RH for offices. They also have
tables giving optimal temperatures for various activities.
The BOHS publish a book on Thermal Comfort (Technical Guide No. 8) ISBN
0-905927-38-9 published by H&H Scientific Consultants.

Subject: humidity levels in offices
Hi
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the right humidty levels for
the temperature levels usually experienced in offices please. I would have
thought there is a British Standard, but having smurfed the net, I have not
got anywhere so I thought I'd ask my learned colleagues!
Many thanks for your help again
Best wishes for the seasons festivity !
