Our procedure says 'should have an ophthalmic examination before starting
work with lasers and re-examination when transferred to non laser work or
after an incident by a specialist i.e. ophthalmologist' I think you'll find
they do retinal mapping.

Subject:
Does anyone carry out eye sight tests for employees working
with or doing
maintenance on lasers (category 2, 3 & 4). A baseline eye
examination is
usually recommended if you want to compare the result before
exposure with
the result post exposure. Can anyone list the tests which
are carried during
the eye examination, and who is the best person to do this -
a GP, or eye
specialist etc. to carry out these particular tests?
Thanks for your help
