From Anglian Water
Hello Craig
Many thanks for your response.
In this instance it was the latter, the bog standard e mail one. We have
a form on our system for physio referrals which requires the referring
adviser to "sign". We do not have the facility of encrypting our
signatures as yet. Currently I print off, sign and then fax to the
physio co coordinator. My question arises from the "paperless society
debate" which is ongoing in many organisations I think.
Best wishes
Mary

I assume you're talking about a digitally encrypted signature rather
than
just a normal email with the name typed at the bottom. Most of the
standard
digital signature encryption tools are very secure and the only real way
to
then forge someone's digit signature is if you have access to their
system
and the password for the encryption. Legality wise I'm not 100% certain
but
I'm pretty certain that unique digitally encrypted signatures are OK.
All the best
Craig
