New, free eLearning resource for Health and Safety:
"INTERNET FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK"
http://www.vts.rdn.ac.uk/tutorial/safety
- a free "teach yourself" online tutorial that teaches Internet skills for
FE students learning about occupational health and safety.
The tutorial has been written by Tony Weston, Construction & Health and
Safety Lecturer and ILT Development, at Grimsby College, North East
Lincolnshire and is aimed primarily at students of Health and Safety
(particularly on vocational courses)
It enables students to find key H&S organisations on the Web, Trades Union
sites on H&S, eLearning materials about first aid, environmental health and
much more!
This is one of 5 wew Internet tutorials launched today as part of the RDN
Virtual Training Suite - a national Internet service for academics and
professionals funded by the Higher and Further Education Funding Bodies via
the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
The RDN Virtual Training Suite is a highly popular service, built
collaboratively by members of the teaching and lecturing community in
colleges and universities across the UK. Building on the success of 56
tutorials already available in other subject areas, this new "teach
yourself" Web tutorial will enable students in Further Education to find
high quality information on the Internet to support their course work.
The RDN Virtual Training Suite is available at http://www.vts.rdn.ac.uk
This project was co-ordinated by The Institute for Learning and Research
Technology (ILRT) at Bristol University, in collaboration with the RDN hubs.
