I do occasional paper screening for a local police force. The P/E form has
recently changed and also the colour vision requirement has changed from
using a City University to using a Farnsworth lantern or "Falant" test.
Haven't seen one myself but there is some information on the net- I think it
was developed by the US Navy.
Also they have reduced the required time to have been elapsed from having
laser eye surgery to 6 weeks.
If you send off for an application pack or check out
www.policecouldyou.co.uk and eligibility you will find out about fitness
requirements.
You may wish to discuss how to expedite treatment/investigations of
musculo-skeletal conditions e.g. back problems
best wishes,
Diane
