Dear all
Our head office, some 100 miles away has sent over around 120 sets of
medical notes from their employees (Deceased or departed from the company)
for us to store safely. Although not exactly happy about this, I didn't have
a lot of choice but to accept them and ensure that they are locked up etc.
I have now had a phonecall from an insurance company asking for a copy of a
deceased employee's medical notes with regards to a claim that is still
being processed.
Could anyone offer any opinions on how this should be managed? I expect that
this type of request is going to be quite a regular occurence and am not
sure about the consent issues relating to a deceased person who lived the
other end of the country.
Many thanks to anyone who offers their views
