I apprecaited the thing about electronically written, BUT I feel that refers
to the printed out prescriptions followed by an orignial signature. Faxes
fade, and are not written electronically but transmitted electronically. I
agree with Lynda about how easy it is to forge photocopies and indeed from
there faxes.

Interestingly enough the NMC Guidelines for administration of medicines say
that a prescription can be written manually or electronically by a
registered prescriber and be signed and dated - if that is the case then it
looks like a fax is acceptable - with the exception of controlled drugs
which of course must be handwritten by law....
