I would be graeful for members opinions on the following. We have an employee
who is currently working on a packing line and regularly comes into contact with
an aluminium foil liner. The Technology department have indicated the liner is
a co-extruded polythene with a sealant layer (unsure as to what the sealant is)
and coated with aluminium foil. After handling this liner the employee has
presented with blisters on his fingers and his hands he states are blackened,
although this does not appear to be due the foil 'rubbing off' on his hands.
We have requested MDS on the products used in the liner but none are available
apparently. The employee has since been instructed to wear suitable gloves to
prevent any further blistering. My question is - does anyone have any similar
experiences with aluminium foil liners and what was deemed to be the cause and
corrent control measures?
Thanks in advance foryour assistance.
