Hello List
I'm happy to change settings back so that when the 'Reply' icon is hit, the
message goes to the whole list. However, let's bear in mind the reason I
changed it in the first place: there were complaints about 'Out of Office'
messages and personal requests like 'Can I have a copy...?' going to
everyone and causing frustration.
We have two options:
1. 'Reply to all' means that everyone will get all messages. Subscriber
who wants only the sender to get the reply will have to put the sender's
address at 'To' rather than hitting the 'Reply' button. There will be no
avoiding 'Out of office' replies etc.
2. 'Reply to sender' means that hitting the 'Reply' button will send
message only to sender. This is what's on now. All subscribers need to do
to ensure that their replies go to all subscribers is to put
<[log in to unmask] in their address book. Then, to send a reply,
click that rather than the 'Reply' icon.
You will get the impression (rightly) that I prefer the second option.
It's tidier. However, this is YOUR list. Therefore, I suggest a vote. If
subscribers will let me know whether they prefer option 1 or 2 or whether
they're indifferent, I shall go with the majority. So that this doesn't
drag on, I suggest Friday 21 November, 2359 hours GMT as deadline.
Looking forward to hearing from a majority of the 370 subscribers.
Regards
Bashyr Aziz
